Peter and i have been friends for ever and ever, I am based in Durbs and he is down in Cape Town, and so we have gone through all sorts of modes of communication over the years … it started with good ol snail mail letter writing (yes i am that old!!! ha ha), nowadays its facebook and cellphones but we still make the effort to see each other as often as possible! When he first got together with Nicole many moons ago I was so pleased as I felt like i had known her my whole life!!! We have all seen each other through so many different milestones … and its been amazing for me to meet and fall in love with their first little princess Ajua Luna and now their second Zara. We went off to Simonstown for their family shoot. I wanted to do something a bit different to the usual family portrait beach sessions which are so in demand, and they are the perfect funky family to pull of my whimsical ideas of playing with colour and negative space.

Later on in the day we went to the forrest where Ajua had great fun making magic potions with river water and dirt and i got to test out my new 14-24mm 2.8 FX lens …. so much fun!!!!

Little Zara is an absolute cutie pie and she really does remind me of the ice age baby!

The really great thing about doing photography for friends who are super duper creative is that you get to be a bit crazy and include your feet in pics and such!!!Don’t really know if i would get away with this with my other clients!!!

And finally …. pics of little Ajua Luna who i absolutely adore (except when she throws tantrums!). Ajua is a truly special child and i am so lucky to have the connection with her that i do! We made these pics together one afternoon in the garden.
