Top Billing Magazine has included a small feature on me in their “What’s Hot” section in the November edition. Not that long ago one of my ex students, Taetime DeVilliers asked me to pose for a portrait for her final year portfolio and this very image made it into the magazine. Well done Taetim! I always do a recon scout of a wedding venue before photographing the big day. When i went down to Happy Wanderers in Kelso where Hadleigh and Daniela were getting married I got to spend some time with Hadleigh in the car (this was our first in the flesh meeting as they are currently living in London). What really struck me is how completely in love he is with Daniela. He spoke of her with such warmth and respect that it made me feel confident that this would be a marriage that would last. Hadleigh’s family own Happy Wanderers Resort and Caravan Park and it was therefore fitting that they got married there. When i think back to their big day I think of all the smiles and love that exuded from everyone.
I may just be the luckiest girl in the world as after numerous rants about how stressed out and tired I felt with all the long hours I have been doing this year my boyfriend surprised me with a week holiday to Mauritius!! There is nothing more I love than coconut trees and turquoise ocean and it was so lovely to just relax for a while. To be honest I cannot believe we are already back, time went by so quickly it feels as if we never left. Unfortunately the travel bug has now bitten hard again and I am dreaming of our next trip and thinking rather hard about how nice it would be to be a travel photographer full time!
I love the mountains …. just about as much as i love the ocean but unfortunately this year has been flat out work work work so I haven’t had any time to get up to the Drakensberg. I therefore jumped at the chance to photograph Yvette and Geoff’s wedding which was held at the Cathedral Peak hotel. I treated my assistant and I, and went up the day before the wedding to breath in some mountain air and have a good sleep before the big day. Besides spectacular scenery, the food at this hotel is OUT OF THIS WORLD! I am sure we both put on 5 kgs after one meal! I have never seen so much choice on a buffet in my life! Yvette and Geoff’s wedding was loads of fun …. these people sure know how to party but besides that, they are such a relaxed lovely couple who made my job an easy one! (I am so lucky to have such great clients!) Thanks for a such an awesome weekend guys!
I have to admit that i am extremely jealous of Bo and Ryan as when they see these pics they will more than likely be sitting at an internet cafe with plastic chairs, the sound of scooters buzzing in their ears and a bintang in their hands. Yip they are now in Bali on honeymoon!!!!!!! (my favorite place in this world besides South Africa) Not going to say too much here as i will be doing a full post once all the editing is done but that wont be for a wee while as i am off on holiday soon for a week. (yaaaay for me!)
