Portugese Oyster Box Wedding – Theresa + Rego
Theresa and Rego’s wedding at the Oyster Box Hotel was a proper destination wedding, with pretty much all of the guests (and themselves) having flown in from different parts of South Africa, Portugal and other countries. They decided to get married at the Oyster Box to treat their loved ones to a weekend of seaside grandeur. The idea was to make their marriage a memorable experience rather than just a run of the mill wedding.
Even though Theresa and Rego live in Joburg, their Portugese heritage runs strongly and a large portion of both their families live in Portugal. I actually felt like I was in Europe at times with all the Portuguese speaking folk. This feeling was also spurred on by the fact that they got married at the historical Emmanual Church in the Center of Durban which dates back to 1902.
I just loved the sense of community, family and culture which was so prominent at this wedding. Theresa and Rego … it was a pleasure meeting you and getting to know you both. Thanks for picking me!
