Breakers Hotel Umhlanga Wedding – Anastasia + Ty

Anastasia is half Greek and half Afrikaans, and Ty is Jewish. Instead of trying to amalgamate all three wedding customs they ignored the wedding traditions that didn’t suit them and kept the ones that did. We started our day with a quick portrait of the groom and his pet bearded dragon called Salvador. Photographing a groom with a giant lizard was definitely a first for me, but then again I have never shot a Greek/Afrikaans/Jewish wedding before so there were a few firsts for me that day! After stopping in at the girls, we all headed to the Breakers Hotel for their ceremony and reception under the palm trees and next to the pool. Durban must be one of the best places in South Africa to have a winter wedding, as the sun shone all day and there wasn’t a breath of wind. Friends and family gathered from all over the world and I am sure you can imagine the atmosphere with such a cultural smorgasbord attending!

Tas and Ty must be one of the most relaxed couples I have shot for and there weren’t many moments in their day where they weren’t beaming! It has been such a pleasure to work with you both. Thanks so much for picking me!

And now for a few words from the Bride and the wedding credits

If there’s such a thing as a “wedding lottery”, I feel that we hit the proverbial jackpot! We were fortunate enough to have the most talented and creative group of individuals working on our big day. The entire affair was perfect from beginning to end. It was a magical feeling to be at the epicenter of so much love- family, friends and happiness.

And most I importantly, I get to spend the rest of my days with the sweetest human on this planet- life is all kinds of good!

I love how these two are just grinning stupidly and relishing every minute of their day! I found myself beaming back at the screen in spite of myself.
