Red Ivory Lodge Hartbeespoort Dam Wedding – Jenna + Andrew

Jenna and Andrew are both accountants and they will be sure to tell you that they aren’t the boring kind! Accountants always seem to apologise for their profession, but let’s face it if the world were run by arty folk by like myself it would be very pretty but there wouldn’t be much logic about! The fact remains that even though Jenna and Andrew are accountants they are anything but boring! After finishing their studies they both landed jobs in New York and after some time experiencing the Big Apple they went on a huge expedition to Central and South America. These two have traveled alot but decided to return to South Africa to be with their friends and families and set up home. You can check out their engagement photos which we shot in their home which was still a construction site at that point here!

They got married at the Red Ivory Lodge which is in the Hartbeespoort Dam area. It was my first time shooting there and I was totally smitten with the pond in the middle of the reception venue!

Jen and Andy thanks so much for picking me. We wish you lots more adventures and lots and lots of love!

And now for a few words from the bride:

They say that your wedding will be the best day of your lives so far and ours still managed to overwhelm us. The love, kindness and generosity of our amazing friends and families is something that Andy and I will always treasure. What we wanted from our wedding was a day that was personalised and that reflected us as our couple, our love for each other and our friendship with those that we shared it with. Andy and I spent hours individualising polaroids containing memories of the adventures we have had with our friends. And we tried to incorporate these memories into as many details as we could, while still entertaining the guests throughout the wedding. We had life sized Jenga to remind us of our time travelling in Guatemala and a polaroid camera to capture more memories of the day. Jinx from The Artistry was an absolute gem, she embraced my vision and was absolutely brilliant in executing it on the day. She was also a huge stress reliever and we cannot thank her enough. Steph who designed our stationary had to put up with a lot of back and forth for our need for perfection and I believe, in the end, succeeded. And who can forget Jax and Tash, words cannot say how grateful that we are that we chose them, Jax is like a breath of fresh air on the day and an absolutely wonderful person. By the time they left, even our friends were questioning how they were still standing because they had worked so hard. We knew they were good, but we had no idea that they were this good. Jax and Tash, we really want to say a heartfelt thank you, for listening to us on the day, putting us at ease and for just being you. It was brilliant having you there. Thank you.
