I have been very honored by having an article written on me and my work in the latest Get It Mag. Not only is there an article but I also on the cover EEEK. A huge thanks goes to my extremely talented brother in law Tyrone Bradley for taking the pics, to my favorite make up artist Charelle and to Leah for coming to visit me and writing the piece. I have typed out the article for my friends overseas and far away.
I was really very delighted and flattered to receive an email saying “We love your photography and we would like to feature your work on loveolio.com“. Shooow, what an honor. Love Olio is a really amazing website and directory of the worlds most creative wedding photographers.The site features some of my favorite photographers like Marianne Taylor from the UK and Elizabeth Messina from the States so I do feel very honored. The great thing about this site is that photographers don’t have to pay to be listed like so many of these directories which claim to feature the best photographers in the world. Oh I nearly forgot my good friend from Cape Town Monica Dart is also listed.
I pinched the following text off their site to give you an idea of what they do.
We hand select and feature images from hundreds of wedding photographer’s blogs to showcase their current work. The images can be sorted by location, as well as by the studio’s name, making it easier for brides and grooms to find wedding photographers in their area.
I was really super chuffed that Kat from Rockn’Roll Bride featured Candice and Dave’s engagement shoot and wedding. Rockn’Roll Bride has just been named as the number one Wedding Blogsite in the UK so it really is a huge honor! Not surprising though with such super cool “subjects”. Love you Candice and Dave!
I was very honored to be a featured photographer in a recent article the Get It magazine wrote on current wedding trends. I am sure you will recognise my pics.The article featured a number of people who are at the top of their game in the local wedding industry and asked each person to give wedding tips relating to their particular field. The other photographer featured is the super lovely and very talented Samantha Maber who also happens to be a good friend. Noreen Swartz from Timeless weddings was also included. Noreen and I have worked together a few times and I cannot recommend her enough as a wedding planner.
I am one of those people who can be very hard on myself when it comes to my work, in fact I am probably my own worst critic. So it really was a huge honor for me this week to have been featured on 3 different international blog sites all of which have been voted as being top global wedding sites. Well …. I was actually featured on Rockn’roll bride last Thursday and its now Thursday again, and 7 days is a week right?! I just want to take this opportunity to thank my amazing clients as without them I wouldn’t have a job or a blog feature! Rockn’Roll Bride is one of my favorite wedding blogs as it’s so alternative and a bit crazy at times. This huge international blog is dedicated to weddings which show individualism, fun and flare. The blog doesn’t show too many engagement shoots so it was a great surprise that she chose to feature Dave and Candice’s E-Session. Thanks Kat, I feel very honored! I stumbled across the Admired in Africa website some time back and was blown away by the standard and calibre of wedding photographers on there. If you don’t know the site, it is a wedding directory of the top wedding photographers in Africa.
On their website they say: “Admired in Africa is the only website that is exclusively dedicated to bringing together the top wedding photographers in Africa. By holding our membership up to the highest standards and ensuring that each of our members has passed a review process we have put together a group of some of the greatest wedding photographers on the continent.
This group is a unique and valuable resource to wedding coordinators, event planners and magazine editors. Our list of members have won awards at the highest levels, been published in high profile magazines and websites and have received international recognition.
Membership is by invitation only and invitations are sent out based on recommendation by industry leaders.”

Whilst wondering through the world of twitter the other day I discovered Angels Weddings, a general wedding blog with a twist. Not only does Angel deal with all sorts of normal wedding stuff she also interviews photographers. I spent a good chunk of time reading and stepping into the minds of some really great photographers. Angel has interviewed some really big names in South African wedding photography including, Christine Meintjies who is a great inspiration to me, her business mind is really quite something! After commenting on her twitter page, she emailed back to ask me if she could interview me. Wow what an honor! Social Media never ceases to amaze me!

Top Billing Magazine has included a small feature on me in their “What’s Hot” section in the November edition. Not that long ago one of my ex students, Taetime DeVilliers asked me to pose for a portrait for her final year portfolio and this very image made it into the magazine. Well done Taetim! The other morning we woke up to the nasty fact that Ty’s car had been stolen from our property. My car had a been stolen a couple of months before (although not from our place) and on the same morning the police called to say that they had found it somewhere near Kwa Kwa. It wasn’t a great morning until I opened my email and found Kat’s mail to say that she loved Lisa and Ty’s wedding and would be blogging it very soon. I was just about doing cartwheels as Rockn’Roll Bride is one of the international and widely acclaimed blog sites that inspired me to do more wedding photography and to do things my way!
