Balian Beach – Bali

Balian is a tiny seaside village on the Western side of Bali which is mainly frequented by surfers, yogis and locals (some of whom are also sufers and yogis!). There are no Bintang bars as one would find in Kuta, or overpriced boutiques that you might find in Seminyak. You will however find miles of quiet black sand beaches, coconut groves and rice paddies. It is beautiful and it is quiet, and perhaps it isn’t for everyone but it is certainly for me!

My week there was unfortunately jaded by the fact that I came down with the dreaded Bali belly and spent more time in bed than I did surfing, doing yoga or taking pictures. These are some of the photos that I did take. My body may have been sick in Balian but my spirit was still happy to be in Bali. I can see it in these images.

These are my favourite of your Bali series without a doubt. So much space, peace, soul, spirit and freedom in each photograph. Looking through them kind of feels like flying.

Elemental. Nature in its everyday epicness and the Balinese respect for this. Stunning collection.
