Arusha Tanzanian Wedding – Caitrin + Justin

Way back in 2012 I got a facebook message from Justin saying “absolutely incredible photos Jacki, so impressive! when/if i find someone to actually marry me, you are the first person i will call, incredible! hope all is well xx JT”

Fast forward 5 years and Justin got in touch to say he had found his bride and would I please come to Arusha in Tanzania to take their wedding pictures. I am always keen to jump on a plane and visit somewhere I have never been to, so this was a dream wedding to shoot. What I didn’t quite expect was what an experience this adventure would be. I was so blown away by all the wonderful characters we met, the kind, open hearted hospitality that we were treated to and the exceptional beauty of Tanzania. I do have to mention that I have NEVER EVER seen people party quite like the 200 odd guests that were at the Nduruma Polo Club on that December weekend, and I have literally photographed hundreds of weddings in my time!

Justin and Cait said their I do’s outdoors in the bush and went on to party in a giant marquee with a giant lit up dance floor. This was a huge event to pull off, but from I have gathered Justin Trappe is a man who makes things happen. Even the very real threat of a giant afternoon thunderstorm dissipated to reveal Mount Meru in all her glory. I hadn’t seen this elusive mountain before their big day as it was constantly covered with clouds so when Justin mentioned that he would like to have some pics with the mountain in the distance I was somewhat skeptical, and then he mentioned a photo with the eland! If you know anything about wildlife, you will know that buck typically run away as soon as you get anywhere near them but on Justin and Caits wedding day the mountain smiled down on them and the Eland stood still for long enough for us to get some pictures of them.

Justin and Cait I hope that you will continue to be blessed throughout your married life. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me memories that I will take to my grave! It has been so wonderful to get to know you both and I hope that we will meet again soon!

And now for the credits and a line from the happy couple!

We are just simply grateful to share our special day with our close friends and family! And wow! What a party! True Trappe Style!!
