Moolmanshoek Wedding – Liaan + Riebeek
It took a few attempts for Riebeek to get the proposal to the girl with the blue dress in the bag but she said yes and the next thing you know they were saying their I do’s in a stone church in Rosendal in the Freestate. Their love story is something straight out of a rom com. Pretty Environmental Consultant in the blue dress goes out to the mines for a work function. Engineer takes an instant fancy to the lady in a mans world but is too shy to ask her out. A few wires get crossed in rather hilarious ways and they eventually go on a date that led to a proposal and then a wedding in the mountains middle of South Africa.
The setting for their reception was just spectacular. Moolmanshoek lodge is truly something special. It’s no secret that I am horse mad so when anyone asks me to take photographs at a venue that has 200 horses on the property I get excited!
Their event was beautifully planned and styled by the oh so talented Otto De Jager and I just loved the warm winter theme combined with the blue delft pottery. To finish off the look the floor was strewn with crunchy winter leaves! It became a beautiful setting for guests to enjoy delicious food, heart felt speeches and lots of catching up. Later everyone moved up to the main house for the party!
This was definitely a wedding I wont forget as I had literally just landed from Bali and I had such a great time in this beautiful place with such beautiful people! We also rather stupidly listened to the GPS which took us on a wrong turn and landed up getting stuck in the mud so as I said – one for the memory banks! Thanks Liaan and Riebeek for picking me to capture these precious memories. I’m so glad you did!
Stunning!
