Pretty in Pink Zimbali Wedding – Sally + Tom

I know exactly why Tom fell in love with Sally ….. because if the colour pink could be turned into a human she would be it! Sally must be one of the sweetest people I have ever met! She is sweet in a girly kind of way. She giggles, likes pretty things, teaches small children and loves her Mom (ALOT). She spent a year saving up for a Rolex for Tom as she thought it only fitting that she buy him a present which equalled her beautiful engagement ring.

Tom is an architect and likes clean lines and the English rugby team (he is a pom so it’s understandable)! He also loves Sally and running. Both of them are keen runners and have done the Comrades marathon together. They are so keen on running, they named all the tables at their wedding after various marathons. Tom has a brilliant sense of humor – Anyone who runs the comrades must have a sense of humor! He spoils Sally incredibly which must make up for the fact that they have been living in a building site for a very long time now. Check out their engagement shoot pics here We all know it will be worth it because this prince only wants the best for his princess!

The two of them adore each other and their families. It was an emotional wedding but it was a joyous one. We really really loved working with all of you. Thanks so much for picking me!!!

And in the brides own words …….

From the day of “The Proposal” the motions were put into place to begin planning what would be one of the most surreal and wonderfully special days of our lives. (Just realised I’ve quoted a soap opera title there but hey, I love a bit of cheese! hehe!) There are a million things to think about when planning a wedding but there were a few things we were certain about- there would be pink (it just wouldn’t be a ‘Sally’ wedding without it!) , it would be in South Africa (Living in London, it was important to Tom and I that we share my very special home with all our friends and family) and we wanted a venue where we could celebrate with our families and friends all week long! Tom and I are both very close to our families and this was a  rare opportunity to have both our families together in one country! And when all those elements came together on one day it was unforgettable! My favourites, Mom and Sissy by my side, pink candy floss, gorgeous sunshine, a sea view and marrying the most south african Pom I have ever met – what more could a girl ask for!

We have to thank all our friends and family who came from across the globe to join us, we could literally feel the love! Ah, it was amazing! (love hearts and huge hugs to everyone!)

And I have to say an extra special thank you to my previously mentioned favourites. Of course, Tom Tom my husband is a favourite too! Tom was the Groom of all Grooms! He was so involved in all the wedding planning and added all the extra special Tomally elements to our wedding day! Thank you Baba! And to my Mom and sister, Lacey! We are such a tight little threesome (it is for this reason my step dad, Sean was delighted to welcome Tom to the family- still outnumbered by we see soon to be brother in law Euan joining soon!) and the morning spent getting ready with my mom and sister will be something I will treasure forever. I am getting teary just thinking about it, it was so very very very special! The golf cart ride to the ceremony was ridiculously funny and emotional as all our composure escaped us and what filled its place were floods of tears. There we were, Mom and her girls, in floods of tears of happiness as it finally dawned on us that I was getting married! What a wonderfully happy time, I will never ever forget! Ah, teary as I write this, happy tears 🙂 Now if Tom and I could just agree on which rugby team to support I would say we have a very prosperous marriage ahead!

ps Go Bokke!

A wonderful collage of this very special majestical day. It really was a day that we wished would never end. A stunning bride, and a very handsome groom. Tom and Sally are truly blessed to have found each other, and make a very unique and fun loving couple.

Stunning!! Loved being part of the dream team for this wedding! Amazing couple!

  3. Anne Stewart (Tom's Mum) on December 1, 2012 at 2:37 pm

A great record of a fantastic day! I particularly like Tom grimacing at getting a ring pushed on his finger that he will never be able to remove.(Good strategy Sally!) Sally hitching up her skirts to boogie and revealing the flip flops ( what happened to the Princess and the Jimmy Choos?) And whose feet aren’t touching the ground? Andy?
I loved Chloe’s elegant bottom disappearing under the table to join Jayden! ( by the way flower girl’s outfit by B.A. Stewart of Dalston!!) Sebastian looking like he ate all of the flower petals and Tom and Sally walking on water. Make the most of it, it may be the last time that ever happens. Miracles only happen once!
When people heard about Tom’s emotional response to seeing Sally on the day, people asked if I shed a few tears. Are they joking? Who would cry when they are getting a daughter in law like Sally joining the family. I am ecstatic!
And about the rugby team, at least you have a Father in law who supports South Africa, he has the T shirt to prove it.
A really wonderful occasion and thanks to all who made it Tom and Sally’s dream wedding. X
