Rainy Netherwood Wedding – Amanda + Jones

It was a cold and wet November day in the Midlands when Amanda and Chris (aka Jones) got married. One would expect a bit of sun in spring, but alas KZN gets all it’s bad weather during this time of year. The mist rolled in, the roads swelled with big muddy puddles and guest arrived armed with umbrellas. This type of weather may have upset a few brides, but the most important thing for Amanda and Jones about their wedding was that they had a big celebration with their loved ones. I was personally blown away by the incredible hospitality shown to us by Amanda, Jones and their families. They are generous, warm people and even though the weather was miserable, the atmosphere was not!

I don’t know what it is about rainy weddings but they always seem to land up in a huge party, and the truth is every single wedding I have ever shot at Netherwood has been one heck of a thrash too! Between the amazing meal, the fabulous DJ and wonderful company, Amanda and Jones’ wedding reception was definitely up there with one of the most memorable of 2014.

Thank you guys for picking me, I am so glad you did!

What talent Jacki to capture the essence of this beautiful rainy wedding and taking on the challenge of weather with such aplomb! We loved doing the abundant flowers for this special day. Gorgeous images.

This wedding was perfectly organised and quite simply felt like a great informal gathering of family and friends, yet it did not feel choreographed as an event so well organised can. It felt spontaneous from start to finish, riding the crest of a wave of love – and it shows so clearly in these photographs. Well done, Jacki

Jacki, whenever I get to the end of one of your posts, I never know what to say – I’m always left speechless by your insane amount of talent and I feel like no words I say will really justify just how amazing you are. You’re absolutely phenomenal and to me you are THE best photographer in South Africa and probably Africa, too! You rock Jax!!!
