Sussi and Chuma Wedding in Zambia – Julie + Kevin

It’s not every year that one gets to visit one of the Seven Wonders of the World on one’s birthday, and I have Julie and Kevin to thank for giving me this privilege this year. Yip, Julie and Kevin got married just around the corner from the Zambezi falls at the exclusive Sussi and Chuma Sanctuary Game Lodge which sits right on the shores of the Zambezi River in Zambia. Kevin told me that I am not allowed to called the Zambezi river the mighty Zambezi, so I will have to use the words magestic and magical instead to describe this enormous ever moving body of water. What I cannot quite describe is the amazing energy I felt whilst watching this body of water moving past the banks where Julie and Kevin said their vows. It was a spectacular day in a spectacular place with special people.

Their wedding day started off with the boys setting off for a spot of tiger fishing and finished with the newly weds sitting under the African stars surrounded by their closest family and friends. There were so many special moments in between; the look on Kevin’s face as Julie walked down the aisle, the pure joy emanating from the two Vickys as they said their I do’s, and whizzing over the water in speed boats to catch the golden sun are just a few memories I hold close.

A huge thanks to Julie, Kevin and family for making us feel part of something truly special.

Your pictures, or works of art I feel is a better description, evoked many emotions. Thank you. At the risk of sounding boring the words “soul, spirit, essence ” spring to mind – all of which you have captured in so many different and often subtle ways. You may not know this but Mack and I have trucked around Africa for all of our married lives which is in fact forever, dragging Kevin with us from the tender age of 3 months. So, for us, you not only captured the joy of the day but found Africa at every turn, thus creating the perfect memory of our two great loves, our child and Africa. The baobab pic moved me to tears. I have hugged them, climbed up them and into them, picked their flowers from the ground, found leopards in them, sat quietly with elephants under them and indeed worshipped in their presence of greatness. They have comforted me in times of sadness, inspired me in moments of despair and have provided some of my finest experiences. The picture of Kevin and Julie alongside one on that most special of days means more to me than words can express.

My darling Mack, who is a man of few words, looked at the pictures and his only comment after and long and quiet observation, was “mmmmmmm, that girls knows about Africa!” Fine praise from him who in his day was a damn fine photographer

Oh these are beautiful, Jacki, as always!!! And your new website is fabulous! So very very slick! Congratulations! My only complaint is I haven’t the time to view it from my desktop… Not even my laptop… Only my phone. This does not do your work justice!

Hi Jax, thanks for comment on fb. Parenting getting better every day. Pinned to chair by sleepless sleeping babe. Think of you often too. Had the wedding album out past couple weeks, lots of visitors wanting to look and see! Always enjoy looking at it. Will email… One day. In the meantime, sending love to you, your plans with your man, and Tash! XX
